Gary’s speciality was wishful thinking, but it did not stop Sandra Bright alias Sandy phoning the Hurley cottage in the early hours of Friday morning.

"I’m unplugging the phone from now on,” Gary said through his veil of sleep.

Episode 7 - Silvie's Dilemma

Before Cleo and Gary could reach the wrought iron gate, a voice stage whispered a “Pssst” from behind one of the pillars holding up the bel étage.

 “Miss Hartley!”

“I’ll go on ahead,” said Gary.

“I’ll see what she wants. It sounds urgent.”

Episode 6 - Be prepared (for anything)

It would have been unfair of Gary not to want Dorothy to have any part in what was about to happen at Pensioner’s Purgatory, which was Gary’s new name for the OAP home. So Cleo phoned her colleague and asked if she would like to see the fire brigade at work. She would, as long as it was not her cottage that was on fire. Dorothy was a fast walker, so she manged to get to the home just before the fire brigade.

Episode 5 - Pickled

Cleo had taken the precaution of ordering steaks for the evening meal, expecting Dorothy and a few other family members to pop in and stay to eat.
